Silently, I spread my memories

Remembering those we are here to scatter:

Sunlight falls upon my face
but still I shiver in cold reality
as life sings it never ending song
while on its path to existing no more

As if stung by an unseen foe
my mind can't grasp the finality
of separation from love's warm security
that had been quietly feeding my soul

Silently, I spread those memories
and leave that which I love
to once again nourish life
as all have done before

The path for me has surely changed
but the end will always be
joining the one I leave today
when I too can be set free
