Donation is cheaper

For those of you looking to pre-plan your cremation, you should consider donating your body to science for research. The cost to do so is very little and they will pay for the cremation. All you have to do is pay for a few small paperwork items and fees to have the ashes returned to you. This is a whole lot less than the $10,000 cost of a funeral.

Body donation is a sensitive area for your family so be sure and discuss this with them. People need a place to visit after a person dies so be sensitive to these needs. After several months the cremated ashes will be returned to you. In the meantime, your family can hold your memorial service and make plans to scatter the ashes when they return at a later date. Since the service does not have to be immediate, it allows for enough time to have relatives travel longer distances more easily.

Organ donation is an entirely different process and you should look into that also. You may donate your organs and then your body to science. The medical facility will handle the organ donation and then your body will be transferred to the donation facility. Meanwhile your relatives can spend their time in remembrance of you with all the details handled for them. Give it some serious thought. Donated your body and spread your ashes.

Here is a list of sites that will give you all the information you need to donate your whole body.
